Come one, come all to ENGAGE, Norfolk!

2/12/17 (Sunday), 1-5pm

Free and open to the public

  • DO I NEED TO REGISTER TO ATTEND?  Pre-registration is closed, but you can register on-site the day of the event!
  • HOW DO I VOLUNTEER? Yeah!!!!  We love volunteers and need lots of folks to make this event great.  You can learn more at this link.
  • CAN MY ORGANIZATION PARTICIPATE in the CivicFAIR?  We would love to host your organization.  We want to make the most of your participation and our attendees, so we are asking organizations to register and provide specific information at each booth.  We will do our best to accommodate all, but we may be limited based on capacity.  *Registration for organizations is closed.*
  • WHERE DO I PARK? Free parking is available in the school parking lot located adjacent to Tidewater Drive.  You can also park on the school-side of Alsace Avenue, as well as in the bus loop located inside the median.  We encourage you to carpool!
  • IS THIS A FAMILY-FRIENDLY EVENT?  While this is not a family-themed event, we don't want you to stay home if you can't find a sitter!  (Please be respectful during the civic workshops and take any little ones outside the auditorium if they feel the need to be vocal.)  AND, with thanks to the YMCA of South Hampton Roads, supervised childcare (and playtime!) will be available for children (ages 5-12 years old) in the gymnasium during the event.  [Unfortunately, we are not able to provide childcare for children under age 5.]
  • WILL THERE BE FOOD/DRINK AVAILABLE? You betcha! We've got these yummy food trucks lined up to sell you some great food: Karnage Asada, J&K Style Grill, and The Grilled Cheese Academy.
  • WHAT HAPPENS AFTER THE EVENT? If you are feeling particularly engaged and want to keep the conversation going, folks will be heading to MJ's Tavern after the event (5-8pm).  While not free, MJs is offering $2 drinks until 6pm!
  • WHAT IF I CAN'T ATTEND ON 2/12?  We hope to video the workshop presentations and make these available for future viewing on our website.
  • WHO ARE THE EVENT SPONSORS? This event is co-sponsored by Norfolk City Councilwoman Andria McClellan, AltDaily, the New Journal & Guide and Volunteer Hampton Roads.
